RE:Some NY Trout

Now that's a picture I would love to see - a father and two sons holding a prize brown together on father's day on the river. You are all lucky to have such meaning to the simple holiday called "father's day".

Some NY Trout

Well I've been a bit slow with this report but the work life has interfered with my real reason for existence.

My brother, dad, and I put in a few hours with the rain on Sunday on the Geneganslet creek outside Greene NY with fair success on a variety of dries in the 16 to 12 size. On Monday we hit a couple of the rivers feeding the Mohawk and had similarly fair success with dries - mostly caddis - up to size 10 and bead head prince nymphs.

Mike caught a beautiful, huge, and hook nosed brown at the same spot I caught my very first trout on a fly (not nearly so big but just as beautiful). It took a size 16 tan caddis with a 6x tippet. What a battle, what a fish and it made our day!
