Ontario Pike on a fly?

Well, Dad's lured me into a trip with him to Eagle Lake in central Ontario. Will he heading up there in mid-September and am wondering if it's worth it to pack the fly rod or just take the casting gear? Are the Northerns still in the deeper water at that time, or have some of the bigger ones moved back into the shallows?

How about it, Pike Junkies?? Should the fly rod stay or go?

TIA,

Brian
