RE:Loop Reels

Anders,
I have owned and used a Loop Traditional model 2W for four years, and although I agree that they should have a better warranty considering the price, they are definitely a quality reel. Mine has seen bonefish, permit, cuda, stripers, blues, false albacore, steelhead, and King salmon, and still performs flawlessly. The only problem I ever had was on the back beaches on the Cape, where sand from the surf would get into the wheels, but a quick rinse usually takes care of it.

Loop Reels

I wrote to Loop yesterday to inquire about their warranty program for their reels. This is the reply from Anders Romson (anders@looptackle.se):
Hi Mitch!

Loop reels carry a 5-year warranty against
material & manufacturing faults.

Usually, there is very little to worry about
these reels. I don't do much to look after them.
Just in the case of the Traditional series.
Try to keep the running wheels clean and
let the tension off the spool when not fishing.
That's it!

Best regards,

Anders

I just assumed that a reel in this price range would have a lifetime warranty. My focus just shifted to the Canyon Big Game #4.
