Interceptor Steelhead don't seem to be spooked by a big leech type pattern unless it is very clear water and they have been pressured. When they want it they attack it hard. No experience with atlantic salmon so can't help there.

Shock and awe!!

In regards to the Intruders and the like, do these flies attract more fish than they spook? Or do steelhead spook from large flies like an Atlantic Salmon? on the East coast salmon rivers there are a few flies being used that are somewhat similar, but if you dont hook a fish on the 1st pass it seems to blow the pool. A few 4" leetch patterns come to mind that will scatter the group in no time, but will usually bring one fish in to the game.
Also, do you fish an intruder behind say a #2 GP or a #6 Skunk as a "wake-up" and hope for a response? Are they strictly high-water paterns? Something like this in the pool on our side could possibly get you shot! But, it may also get me a fish
Thanks lads.
