Everyone dreams of Sage or Winston flyrods..the reality is many can't afford it.
So what do you consider a good brand rod/reel combo for a newbie?
Let's say an all around 6wt for trout/bass/panfishing?
I have an Algonquin 8'6" 6/7wt rod with a Pflueger 1594 rc Medalist reel and Cortland 444 WF6F line. It casts as sweet & strong as some very expensive gear, yet I saved a bundle of $$$! Cheers, Dan'l

Yes Steve, it seems that alot of great things were said about Temple Fork and Harry has them for sale... I am sure he could put something together for you... I know Adrian and a couple other guys got that rod... I think it was between $100 and $150 for the saltwater models.

Thanx guys, I just got the Temple Forks 3wt rod last year with a Daiwa Lochmor 100-S reel. Another bargoon outfit for minor cash.
Cheers Dan
P.S. wish we had a Cabela's store in Ontario, Canada!!
I'm hoping to help newbies with this thread too. Dan
