Here is a single version of the popular surf-candy type sand eel. I fished this quite often last season and it was effective. The super hair (I think it's super hair, I don't have the labels for it) is not very supple, but inbetween the white and olive superhair, I put in some lite-brite - this stuff is incredible in the water in terms of action - and I extended it a good inch past the stiffer hair. The hook is a Varivas 990S stainless #4. He's only 4.5 inches long and quite slim, but he is not prone to fouling and catches fish for me!
