This is the 3'rd of Hals entrys in the simple but deadly fly swap. I'll let Hal enter the recipe.

Pattern: Steelhead bugger

Species: Great lakes salmon, trout, and steelhead

Technique: Streamer techniques

Thread: Black

Hook: 36890 Size 6 -10, or equivalent strong steelhead wet fly hook. Tie weighted or unweighted

Tail: Black marabou with several strands of purple krystal flash

Body: Black crystal chenille

Hackle: none

Wing: black marabou palmered on top and bottom of fly head,

This is exactly the kind of stuff "our" fish like to CHOMP! Can also see that one done up with Olive marabo; and I'd be very tempted to stick with the black body for the colour contrast.

Olive is good, throw the tungsten cone head on it and you really get them excited..
