: Gloucester Harbor and Beyond - 9/13

Fished out out of Glucester Harbor on a friends boat. When exiting the harbor about 6:30 - there were several 100 birds bombing bait. I thought bass, as some birds actually were sitting on the water. It was a little choppy and we worked our way towards them. While I was rigging my rod, one of the guys hooks up to a blue - in the 15 lb range.

I was surprised it was a blue - back to the few birds sitting on the water - guess they never saw any of their friends hopping around with one leg!

The blitz was over by the time I rigged my rod, so we were off cruising for more signs of bird activity. Not much else happened, although we did mark fish - the only thing is they seemed to be in 40 foot of water and hovering at 15-20 feet.

It was a great day on the water, even though I didn't catch any.

Resting up for Rhody,
