Put the yak in around 5am off Plymouth beach. I saw one other fly fisherman who was switching over from night gear to a popper. I asked if he'd been doing anything, Nada. Told him the action had been good lately and, Splash, Boil, Crash. A bit of activity near the jettys :D I got the yak in the water and got into a few respectable schoolies ~24-26" before I had to depart for work. Seems to be a mix of bait, herring, silversides with very small snapper blues that I'm sure the bass would eat.
Nice to see you & Rich last night. Hope you had some success.
The only fish I came across last night were when had a useless leader in my lap.
Maybe falling tide in Plymouth isn't the best?
Same here Roop.
I think it's still better in the morning until we get into fall, then it can be hot at dusk too. Did some paddling with Tod and John (a beach regular) this morning 8/15, There was a lot of surface activity @5ish then it got quiet. I managed one 26". Definately not the best day. We are coming out of the good moon phase too, but I'll probably go tomorrow morning anyway, maybe try the inside if the wind isn't too bad.
I can do tomorrow AM - I'll call you this afternoon.
Roop, Not too late in the afternoon. I need a nap, the daily 5am paddle is starting to catch up to me.:o

South Shore gents (esp. Roopster & Jim) - Just in from a two hour evening paddle on Dux Bay. Honkin' SW wind, but a lot of basses and lots more bait. Many, many micros, nothing bigger than 24" but fairly steady once the sun dipped low.
Good luck in the am!
Thanks for the info. I over slept this morning so I've nothing to report:rolleyes: I'd like to get out on the monomoy shuttle Saturday but if I can't make that maybe I'll head over your way with the yak for a couple hours.
