Just happened to be fishing the flats area off Chapin's Beach and Barnstable yesterday. Planes and helicopters were buzzing everywhere. Too bad these mammals were beached for so long in the blazing heat. The flood tide was near three o'clock. There were constant radio traffic by Coast Guard to keep floating bystanders away.

Two miles West of the entrance bouy to Barnstable Harbor there were well over a 100 boats fishing a school of bass in forty feet. Twenty pound fish were surrending to tube and worm rigs. No weed problems. Maybe these are the fish that moved up from Scortons Ledge.

Too bad about the whales; nice pod of bass! 40 feet... I think I could get down there with a 425 grain ;)
