LLBean Rod:
Streamlight 9', 9#, 4pc. MSRP 199.00
A nice, comfortable casting stick that doesn't hurt the wallet. It does what I tell it too, tells me I can do more if I did it better. Somebody said "You use 'em and forget about them, they work so well" somethinglikethat. It's true, glad I bought it.

Old Florida reel:
model 44
Disappointed overall with it - the cork drag & construction make it fussy in the sand. Performance on a boat is flawless - will sell, make an offer.

(insert my photo here):
'nuff said.

probably me who said that about the rod. I've had mine for 4 or 5 years. I use it more than I think I do. Its the stick I grab when I don't want to worry about it.

Glad you like it.

Too bad...I remember when you bought it at one of the shows this winter.

rod: yes I think it was Nick

reel: yep, that's the one
thing is, I dunked it in the surf and it got really fussy - cleaned it, oiled it, tried it again - went back to my Redington. If it gets sandy I just dunk it in the surf to clean it...go figure.

I hate bad mouthing it but it just isn't up to the kind of abuse I put my gear through.

gonna surf through some of your striper patterns John, wanna tie something tonight I think...

Why would one want to play in the sand with a reel?:hehe:
