6/5 Fishing Report and Ramblings:

The trout do not rise in the cemetery, so you better do your fishing while you are able. (Sparse Grey Hackle)

20-30 knot winds today. Not a bad wind to fly fish in if you picked your spot so you could cast with the wind or across it. I figured with the wind the Blues could show up in BIG numbers - and they did! Loads and loads of'm. Plus some nice bass too. J asked me to join him fishing so I used a big bright orange squid fly about 6 inch's long and fished it 6 inch's under the surface and it worked like magic. It produced more hook-ups on Blues than any other fly today. (Hint-hint) It was great fun to watch them slam it on the surface.

J caught his first 2 keepers ever today. One was 29 inch's and the other 32. All on fly rod.

Did you know?
Monomoy’s name came from the native americans. The Algonquins name means the “sound of rushing water.” The Europeans in general experienced ill-luck there, with names like “Tucker’s Terror” “Point Care”.

Over the course of my week at Chatham, I saw FOUR different guys fishing from ladders! :-) What the hell is next?
Take it easy,
Bob Scott

Im making more money renting those darn ladders on the beach than I do in a day of guiding! I just sit there and drink beer all day and charge a $45 rental fee per tide. (he-he)

Hi Randy,
I am so stoked!!! I got the Ok from my wife to go fishing with you! (I know I'm whipped, but alimony is a big word)

You know what they say Matt. The man is the head of the family, but the wife is the neck, and she turns that head anyway she wants too.

As usual, great report. Loved the saying about men and women. Great stuff!
