Here's the good word from our good sponsor Capt. Keith Lincoln of Rip Ryder:

"Just thought you might like to know!! Tom and I were out yesterday setting the buoys into our GPSs and there were a ton of fish breaking in the channels. We went over one flat off of South Beach and saw one fish about 30-32"."

Well guys, we'll definitely be including the Rip Ryder during our clave for everyone interested in runs out to the South Beach / North Monomoy flats and channels during the clave in two weeks!

Beside the Rip Rider anyone bringing a yak to the clave,,, I was hoping to do a spin around the bath Tib in mine sometime during the clave. Hit south Beach, cruise along that inner shore than shoot across to N. Monomoy and then back into the Bath Tub. Either a Morning or Afternoon run on Saterday.

John,

I was thinking about bringing 2 kayaks to the clave so that some members could be more mobile. We can chat as the clave approaches as to how feasible it is for me to make the trip with you in my yak. My making the trip will be highly weather dependent but I think that there will be no problems.

So, I will prabably paddle out with you. Here's hoping that we get to partake in the Nantucket Sleigh Ride.

Sounds good... bring the yak and we can make a last minute decision based on the weather, of course. Since we all want to fish as much as we can ,the yak trip might be a good replacement for walking south beach and we could hook up with any members doing the beach walk for breaks at certain times.. I agree, we can firm up as the time gets closer.

John - speaking of yaking (that doesn't sound good does it) - is it an area that a "not so experienced" yaker could do all right. I have been wanting to just use one to poke around the estuaries and the like, but don't have any experience in the open water.

Fliboy, no experience necessary on this one. All we need to do is basically hug the inner shore and don't even need to make the really only open water crossing between south beach and Monomoy... which is not really that far and I would not call it open water. At high tide it does look far. If we stay in the bath tub we will be getting plenty of paddling and Fishing
