Here are two examples of The Popovics "tandem" surf candies, obviously intended to resemble two "schooling" sand eels. I tied these last year and brought them back from the Cape intending to tye some like this but as silversides.

I absolutely love this pattern. It's an example of just how creative Popovics' mind really is. Why eat one baitfish when you can have two? :p

And, as an added bonus, it looks like the tail of the front fly will help keep weeds off the hook.

I have two questions for you John. Is that a Mustad Keel hook they are tied on ( I can't remember the #)? And how are the hooks for hooking and fighting fish? I'm curious because somewhere I have some Rays flys tied on those hooks that I 've never gotten around to trying.

John... yes it id the keel hook, but Honestly, I have not yet caught any fish with it ... Really have not used it as of yet.

Thanks John, I want to try this pattern sized like DblHauls grooving (or is it curmudgeon) mini candies.
