They look like they might even stay attached to something soft like flats boots, sneakers or even scuba boots. For that price I may give them a try. Thanks for the link!

Got 'em! They will definitely stay attached to scuba boots and sneakers. Aside from the fact that they are a little heavy, the only potential problem that I can see at this time is that there is no material covering the tops of the spikes (where the soles of your shoes go). Not sure if this will result in a comfort and/or damage problem with soft-soled shoes.
Glad they seem to have worked out for you. STP is a great place to find some real bargains on outdoor gear.
