For those times when you want the flash of angel hair but need a wider body profile, try building the 'wing' with a 50/50 mix of kinky fibre and angel hair. Comb it through on each layer to break the angel hair fibers into random lengths....
This one used "Devil's Sauce" to give the head a bit of structure up to the eyes..
NICE fly! I can imagine what it will look like with H20 added.
How do you like the devil's sauce vs. softex?
I've been pleased w/ softex for baitfish heads unless the buildup characteristics of epoxy is necessary like when using fat plastic eyes, etc. I've never have problems with losing flat sticker eyes or breakage along the materials / back / sides, even when used to permanently lay (laminate?) flash, angelhair or other materials against ez-body mesh for sand eels or to form a flexible "head" on juvies, etc.
One problem I encounter with it is that the jar can become impossible to open sometimes, and the toluene (common to both) is nasty stuff from what I understand.

Basic differences between softex/devils sauce
Thinner viscosity, seems to penetrate fibres better rather than lay up just on the surface.
I think it cures 'clearer'. not as opague as softex.
You can mix it yourself as it's Red Devil clear acrylic caulk mixed with toluene (sp).
Not as good as softex for setting eyes, I used goop to set the eyes and then apply the D/S both on the surface and by pushing into the fibres.
Either material has some bad 'stuff' in it that you need to be cautious with. ( Last night I spilled some CA "Kicker" on my workbench when doing some crease flies, had to evacuate! )
