Inagua Outback Lodge, on Great Inagua, Bahamas to go barbless!
The waters of Great Inagua comprise a unique ecosystem which supports an unspoiled fishery for bonefish and tarpon that is very rare in these times. In order to protect this precious resource for future generations, Great Inagua Outback Lodge is now a strictly catch and release, barbless hooks only, fishing lodge.
Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters is the exclusive booking agent for this new bonefish & tarpon lodge on the southernmost island in the Bahamas chain.
We helped start this remote lodge along with it's owner, native Inaguan Henry Hugh, and we want to assist in the long term protection of the unique fishery here. Great Inagua is the third largest island in the Bahamas, yet only has 800 or so residents. It lies only 50 miles or so from Cuba. The bonefishing and tarpon fishing is sweet! Hopefully more lodges in the Bahamas follow suit and go "barbless only" for bonefish and tarpon.
