: Confirmed 30#'s to the Fly

This evening I talked to a gentleman whose close freinds fished the Thompson this past week. He is a very reliable source and a freind of his brought in a 45"x23" buck to the beach during their trip.

A few weeks ago I saw a picture of a 44" inch HEN caught out of a Skeena River trib. It was hard to pry the actual length of the fish out of him as he is a very modest person and did not want to brag. He just walked up to me and showed me the picture. He did not get a girth measurement but I can reasure you that it was by far the biggest female steelhead I've ever seen and could very well rival any fish any of us has ever seen.

Checkout Gio caught this fish last month. There have been numerous reports of fish this size from several other BC rivers this year.A guide I know on the Sustut told me a 32 was brought in there.Several on the Bulkley,Babine and Kispiox as well. It's been a good year for big fish.

That's a beautiful thang..... I fish that big is a real prize.

Did the name of that person that showed you the pic happen to be P. Lund?

School; Damned if you do damned if you don't! I personally think you are to much like myself(you want to fish to much). You are young take your time but, continue on.

Good fishing!

Gio told me about this monster a month or so ago--wow! There were a few really big fish taken on the fly on the Thompson this fall, but this one dwarfs 'em all. Amazing what happens when the nets are out of the water!

Do you know if the nets will be in or out next year?

you can always plan on the nets being "in" as the decision whether to pull 'em or not isn't made until the last minute
