Thanks Sully.

<font size="4">Weekapaug</font><!--4-->

Out of Burlingame, head West on route 1 to a left onto Weekapaug Road. At the intersection of Atlantic Ave and Weekapaug Road is a pair of parking lots, one on the west side of the breachway, one on the east. East side is where we hit a blitz on the beach last year.

This is a long haul. You might be able to find a faster route if you're aiming to get directly there. I like to go this way because it gets me close to Weekapaug and some other primo spots....

Head west out of Burlingame on route 1 and go until the left onto Weekapaug Rd. From Weekapaug, take a right onto Shore Road and follow all the way to Ocean View Hwy.

Continue to Watch Hill Road. Work your way into the center of the town of Watch Hill (sorry, I'm a little sketchy here). I believe Niantic Ave. to Bay St. is what you want) You'll start seeing lots of shops on the left and then a Marina and then the Watch Hill Swim club on the right. Park way in the back of the club lot near the large wooden structures that resemble baseball stadium bleechers (these are actually time share bungalows for the summer crowd). The Napatree spit is just over a sand dune from the parking lot. It's death march to the point. Travel lightly and be sure to make a few casts off the concrete sea wall right at the cars.

For First timers staying at Burlingame, When going South (Actually West) on Route 1, Remember to:

A few miles past is the sign for "BURLINGAME CAMP GROUNDS" on the right.

<font size="4">Matunuck Beach & East Matunuck Beach</font><!--4-->

East Matunuck Beach is where you will find West Wall, while Mantunuk Beach has Deep Hole close by:

http://sitemap.mapquest.com/mqmapgend?MQMapGenRequest=FDR2dmwjDE%3bf72q%26FDT7 w%7cquba0y%24.0u8s0u%24%3a%26%40%24%3a%26y%245q6%2 4l56%24PK%18%19%3dTPWIK,rnlrbn%26%3dtngwan%26%40%2 4%3a%26%40%24%3a1%40" border="0">

To get to West Wall, take a left onto Succotash Road (turn around is near a big bend in the road on route 1). Follow Succotash down past the state lot for E. Mantunuk Beach. You'll come to a small rotary. Park along the slat fence to the left of the rotary and walk up the little private road to the right of the rotary.

West Wall is a massive jetty that was holding Albies a few weeks ago (got my first one ever there), but will most likely be strictly bass and blues by this weekend. Both the inside and outside will hold fish. Look for the bait.

<font size="3">Deep Hole</font><!--3-->

Route 1 to Matunuck Beach Road.

<img src="http://sitemap.mapquest.com/mqmapgend?MQMapGenRequest=FDR2dmwjDE%3bf72q%26FDT7 w%7cqubaqw%24.0u85d6%24%3a%26%40%24%3a%26r%245q6%2 4l56%24PK%18%19%3dTPWIK,rnlrbn%26%3dtngwan%26%40%2 4%3a%26%40%24%3a1%40

From the state beach parking lot, walk to the left until you find a massive depression in the sand. See the <!--http--><a href="http://www.rhodetrip.com/" target="_blank">beach cam</a><!--url--> for a visual. Bring a full sink line.

What's all this I hear about RI calves? Are they tastier than midwestern beef?

That cam is dynamite - would be great to wave to the family while down there

Damnit!! I gotta start sleeping more.....

So maybe it's an appropriate slip...with all the walking we'll end up doing we'll be coming home with huge calve muscles

When you're racing from breachway to breachway down those roads through them South County farms, watch out for cattle in the road. Those R.I calves can come wandering out at any moment.

I thought Al was referring to those mid-sized stripers that are bigger than schoolies, but not big enough to be considered cows.

Very impressed with the logistics, information gathering, and co-operation for the RhodyClave. A tip of rod's should go out to Al_D for all his hard work and creativity on line.

This is just a test to see if I registered correctly. If this were an actual message it would be edited.

Ray - Glad you're aboard! and thanks.

Gang, I've cleaned up this thread a bit and saved it to a file: <!--http--><a href="http://flyfishingforum.com/rhodyfest/spots.htm" target="_blank"> Maps and Directions</a><!--url-->. Please print this out and stick it in your gear bag (even if you know your way around.... you never know who you'll meet and not everyone has this information)
