I'm thinking of bringing the boat around from stage to keep in ryder's cove for a few days in early/mid august. My aim to is to take some people fishing in the bay who are not comfortable going out in the ocean or very far from land in Nantucket Sound. With the new inlet I'm thinking of fishing the section from the new inlet down to the old inlet with an emphasis on strong island and the channel along south beach running out to the old inlet. So I guess not technically Pleasant bay but the harbor. Did anyone fish this area in august last year? Would it be worth bringing the boat all the way around? I'm also thinking is the fish camp out outside the new inlet again it could be good regarding that.
Last summer the area between Nauset Inlet and Chatham Inlet including just off the new break was on fire with big fish.
Not too many people were focusing inside then but I am aware of good fishing from Strong Island up in the bay. It has been good this year as well, and with cool ocean flush I would guess it to be a good bet in August again.
Blues were prevalent last summer, but bass there too - lots of seals hunting around in that section now although they are right off Chatham inlet right now.
Captn Keith reports the return of whitey and I don't mean Bulger.

sounds good Juro. I still haven't made up my mind as to if I want to bring the boat around or not. I may just take them and fish the mouth of stage looking for blues.
Point rip has been very good, deep for bass; blues on top. Soundside shoals on strong tides as well.
Heck if I had a boat I would be out for fluke YUM

yeah squid flies now in the rips now. Sand eels were the pattern a couple weeks ago. I'd love to take my fiancee down to the rips but she won't fish that far from the harbor. So I'm trying to figure out a place near stage that made sense to do some fishing in the beginning/middle of august. I was thinking of bring the boat around to keep in Ryder's cove for a couple days at a mooring I have there but it's such a pain to do that and then I have to contend with the new/old breaks which is why I moved the boat to stage in the first place.

fluke do sound good. I was thinking of trying that from the stage inlet out to the bell buoy. Make some great fish and chips too!

I love fishing Scatteree. That's basically whereI grew up striper fishing, we didn't have that new inlet there though!
