I spent a week and a half on the York, Dartmouth and St Jean in Gaspe starting in early June this year. Fishing was great once the water levels declined sufficiently.
I was alarmed to see very few parr this trip, in contrast to my other spring trips to the those rivers. Did the flooding in December (wow, the high water marks were WAY up into the trees!) do a real number on the juvenile fish?
The runs seemed to be pretty strong again this year, but I fear for the eggs and young fish that were in the river during the flooding.
