Hi all,
I have been hearing good reports on these rods.
Can anyone confirm these rods have been released by TFO in a 9wt yet ?
I sent TFO an e-mail but never recieved a reply.

IMHO
I have tried the TFO BVK 9wt rod on small Tarpon and did not like the way it performed. I asked the guide to try it and he was not impressed either. I have cast several other rods in the same price range that provide improved distance, accuracy and fighting ability with better fit and finish. I never felt comfortable lifting a small Tarpon with the rod...it does not have adequate strength in the butt section. IMHO

On the Temple Fork website they rank the BVK as high on presentation and distance but very low on lifting. It seems to me that if you're looking for distance and lifting, the TiCr or TiCr X would be the better choice.
I have a 10wt TiCr and it casts well with a Rio Outbound Short and lifts well enought that I was able to bring a 42" striper back against a strong outgoing tide with no trouble.
Hope I have a chance to try it & its 9wt brother on tarpon one day!
Michael.
