: Q4 site costs - donations needed
As the year-end rolls up, I owe for the last quarter of hosting and if you enjoy the site please use the paypal link to make a small donation to the cause.
Let's cap the donations at $10 and see if we can get many members to help - verses the usual few who make big donations.
Thanks in advance for your help in closing out another year of great fishing, and I hope the catching wasn't too bad either :)
Eighteen donations received - thank you

Ten now ....

FYI - it looks like you need to log in to the site in order to make the donation link work. I tried to make a donation when I was on the site as a guest and it didn't work, so I logged in to the site and the link worked.
Not sure if any non-members would want to make a donation, but if they do try to donate and the link doesn't work because they aren't logged in then I'm guessing that would be the end of their donation efforts.

It took me a while to figure out how to donate through pay pal. I guess I'm # 12

I guess I am missing something...but I think I need an email address to pay though. Juro, can you simply send me by email or PM your email address so I can get this done..Thanks...John:confused:

My Paypal transaction seemed to go thru without a hitch. This should put donators into low double numbers. Come on guys ........ this is too good a site for you not to support it!

Would love to contribute but do not use Paypal. Can I mail you a donation or meet you in Chatham some morning? I'll even buy breakfast or coffee!
Ditto John Morin's post.

Juro, where do you stand against your requirement at this point?
Very close thanks to those who went over the requested $10 limit. Grateful but I hoped we could get a little from a lot of people this time for a change. In any case I certainly am not complaining.
In addition to past due hosting the "flyfishingforum.com" domain expires on Christmas Eve this year as well, so renewal is up very soon. I am going to secure it for 5 years for an additional $70 if we get there, or I'll advance that and work on sponsorships in Q1 '11.
PO Box is up for renewal in March.

Nor should any of us! Best $10.00 I've spent all year long. All this intel and information without even leaving the house! Thank you Juro and all those that have, or plan to contribute.

As I posted earlier I want to contribute, just need some way other than Paypal to get the money to you. I live in Orleans and regularly visit Chatham.

Not sure if it was just me but I couldn't get PayPal to load right when using Windows 7/Explorer 8. It worked when I used a desktop with Windows Vista/Explorer 8.
There must be some cross scripting protection in Windows 7 that isn't compatible with the embedded PayPal link on this webpage.
Maybe check to see if there is a newer link script from PayPal so others won't try to donate and give up?
For what it's worth. Anyway - just about the best $10.00 I've ever spent.
Thank you for the contribution and comments!
I've tried firefox and IE 7 on XP Pro - thanks for the heads up on other platforms.
It didn't seem to work from my IPad either.

As I said earlier, it worked just perfectly from my MAC with latest OS.

Mac 10.5.8 OSX for me also. I clicked on the yellow Donate button and it took me to Pay Pal. Phil

If one wanted to send a check rather than employ PayPal, how should the check be made out? To Worldwide Flyfishing Forum? To Juro?
I note the PO box address in Chatham.

I don't follow directions well (just ask my mom). I donated $20.
Thanks for all the effort towards the site!
Thanks and happy holidays!

The check is in the mail. Really!!!

Thanks and happy holidays!
Happy Holidays to you too Juro.
Same to you - enjoy Andros!

New member and was unable to donate thru the site so I sent a check to the PO Box. I've just been lurking mostly but a great site and would hate to see it lost. Merry Christmas to everyone.

Link didn't work for me. I'll send in the mail. Thanks!
Now that the holidays are over I've been able to get to the PO Box in Chatham and take care of the overdue quarterly server fees, and renew the domain flyfishingforum.com until 2015.
PO Box and Q1 hosting is due in March; plenty of time to talk to our sponsors the rest of the way.
Everyone who comes here should thank the people in this thread who've stepped up to keep the resource available. On behalf of all members -
THANK YOU GUYS!

Juro, not looking for names but can you tell us how many individuals, not sponsors, made donations? Unless I missed some posts or acknowledgments, my 'gut feeling' is that there were very few when taken as a percentage of the actual participants on this site. Thank you for all you do, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Pete 'PopnesetBay' Readel
Check your PM's, please

Maybe with the infusion of capital you can get the DONATE button to work. I tried many times to no avail.
Thanks for trying Reely, thats the thing about the internet there are variables on both ends of the connection (server & client).
Appreciate that you cared and happy new year!

Is firstname.lastname@example.org still valid on paypal?

Sometimes links that send you to another site exhibit problems due to the firewall settings on your computer or the virus protection software you are using. Briefly turning off the virus protection/firewall software will prevent to problem connecting to Paypal. Just make sure you turn the protection back on or reboot your computer.
