I spoke with the restaurant manager today and there is a change - he can not block off the area for us for less than $35.00 per person. Sorry about that screw-up on my part. The good news is we now have a dedicated room for the clave dinner. There will be slide presentations and other activities, like our own fly show. I'll talk to people about doing tying presentations over the projector etc. We'll also have a raffle drawing. Acoustic performances, whatever. It will be more fun and a longer time - but it will be $10 more bucks for the dinner and the room.

PRICE CHANGE $35.00 per head. I still need an accurate headcount to commit.

*** Please accept my apologies. All need to re-confirm at the new (final) price from the manager ***

(currently 19 confirmed)

Please RSVP to this thread if you are absolutely committing to attendance to the Spring Clave Fly Event
Saturday 7:30pm at Del Mar Bistro, 907 Main Street, Chatham MA.
DEDICATED ROOM and fixed price dinner - $35

Manager suggests 7:30p for cocktails. Dinner will follow. We need 35 people.

Cost is $35.00 per person.

I'm in. Is the bistro pet friendly?

juro
04-29-2010, 12:51 PM
I don't think any restaurants allow pets in MA however it is a tent area (where the bands play) and if you wear dark glasses and a cane they might allow it

*** SORRY EVERYONE ***

I spoke to the manager today and for this many people he can give us the entire function room but the fixed price menu will be $35 per person.

The good news is projectors, fly tying demos, raffles - are all fair game. Think of it as OUR fly show dinner.

I think it's worth it, and a great way to take things to the next level.

Please do me a favor and re-confirm your attendance.

thanks

Me? are you sure? I am flattered...sure....Only if you do the deep eel... I will do crab, flounder and some other eel. What about some of your Art work...I have seen. If Pete Gray is around he has a good explaination of the use of the new stuff..with the blue light which name escapes me for the moment.

How we doing for numbers.

juro
05-07-2010, 08:21 AM
If we don't get the quota, they will have to put other parties in the function area so as not to waste tables. That will change the nature of the event from a mini-fly show to a nice dinner party with a great bar. Not so bad, but I would much prefer the mini-flyshow!

We have a little time

PLEASE RSVP if ATTENDING

Mike Oliver

I maybe able to get a few more Brits to come. Just how many short are we.

Mike

juro
05-07-2010, 09:05 AM
More brits? - this could get raucous! :smokin: My tan shoes are still brown from Guiness the last time the brits invaded Chatham :)

We need 35-40 to totally reserve the entire function room. I will arrrange for display tables, projector etc - and turn it into a fly show if we can get the whole room. Possibly get Chris from FTC, I'll ask Jeff Smith if he's got a good slideshow, etc - so it would be a big advantage to get the 35-40 people and lock up the room!

Mike Oliver
05-07-2010, 12:19 PM
Racous, what us old past it Brits. We gave up on the dark brew except when in S. Ireland a while ago and moved on to Sam Adams Boston Lager. You get a paler stain on your Tan shoes Juro.

Lets hope we get the required numbers.

Juro,

I probably won't know until Friday night if I'll be able to make the trip, so I won't plan on attending the group dinner. But if I do make it out there I will try to join up with you guys at the restaurant after dinner time so I can participate in the rest of the festivities. I hope to cross paths with some of the crew during the day on Saturday as well. Not sure if any specific plans were made for meeting times/places on Saturday aside from the rip trip or other shuttle destinations. If so, then it would be great to meet up with some of you on Saturday morning. Send a PM if you don't want to broadcast the plans. If I don't hear from anyone, then I'll probably start at the refuge (hopefully before the first shuttle departs) and play it by ear from there.
