No, not rip trips, not the fall migration, but, Paxton had another birthday yesterday. So, if you see a confused looking old codger, please go up to him slowly, ask to help him thread his leader through the hook eye and wish him a happy birthday! :chuckle:

Ron, sorry I missed your birthday yesterday. Since you will never be as old as me, you can understand the forgetfulness on my part. Happy birthday, and say hello to your daughter, Amy, for me. See you on the water?

Ya Steve...still working on it.....to do it myself I had to build it in 2 separate sections joined by 1/2 bolts............for some reason holding a 16ft board on one end by myself would have been a challenge. Waiting for the decking material.....company only delivers the material to my local once a week. Today is supposedly THE day...we shall see...........that's all I have left to do and then I can put other things aside and FISH!!!

Ron, believe me, I know how these projects can go. If I think it will take me a couple of weeks, it usually turns out to be a month. Its a good thing I have a patient wife:D So, finish that up and let's get on to the serious business of fishing!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ron! Those striped bay anchovies are on there way soon. I'll let you know when they arrive. Start tying up some more of those snook patterns that worked so well last year. There is something about the sparkle in Estaz that shoots reflected light in all directions. We use that fly here a lot when the butterfish arrive.

Spotted lots of mullet over the weekend on the south side. Also some pipefish. Snapper blues thick as thieves. Water is very warm but who knows for how long...

FYI Phil...I have tied and have ready at least 8 snook, opps excuse me, striper flies ....am still perplexed by the guy who came over to me in RI last fall because my rod was almost continuously bent for 3 solid hours.....he asked me what I was using for a fly...I showed him and his response was "you can't catch on striper on that" :Eyecrazy: I am still shaking my head every time I think of his response.

Flies with no eyes rarely catch stripers! Hogwash. He probably tied, or had someone else, tie up a bunch after seeing you do what you do best.
