I am seeing micro peanut bunker in coastal estuaries and creeks in numbers far greater than last season. I hope this translates into abundant forage for the fall fishing.

Last year the only places that I saw peanut bunker in these parts was at the Gull Islands and in the Pawkatuck River....it was strange.

Peanuts are also said to be seen in many Cape locations.

Saw a bunch at the Little Cut on Cape Cod yesterday. Sept can be tricky. Time will tell. :smokin: FishHawk

I've seen pea bunker on south side estuaries around the elbow this weekend as well. They were feeding w/ gills flared in the 'everything soup'. Bayside YOY herring were abundant as well as huge sand eel shoals. YOY were moving very fast and bass were doing hit and runs on them.

I'm really starting to like clams as a target species - they don't run away :)
