Check out this video clip I took on Saturday of the clave! They were flipping their fins at us at this point but we eventually figured them out and boated a bunch and the next day Pete Vikanis (petevicar) and Bill Kessler boated something like 50-60 fish up to 36". The secret was a deep eel and the right twitch.

Art also brought them to a frenzy with a hookless plug which enabled us to enjoy some surface blasting action and we found a couple in deep water under the birds before rushing back to the barbeque at the Deering house.

Anyway enjoy...

Wicked cool video! :smokin:

Polarized lense?

Yes, it's a $10 circular polarizer off ebay. It does a nice job but you have to spin it to the right angle when you pan around. This camcorder is several years old and many of the buttons got fried in the saltwater in Acklins. In fact it croaked, but miraculously came back when it dried off!

I'd like to get an HD camcorder, they're really coming down in price lately. I'd need a waterproof one :)

I noticed youtube has an HD option now.

This is a classic Capt Art move....love it.

Great footage, thanks for sharing. Now I'm supposed to concentrate on work?

I would like to say thanks to Art for a couple of days great fishing.

On the saturday I went out with Juro that's when he took the video. We saw thousands of fish but we only managed to catch about 20. I tried every fly in the box to no avail and then Juro came up with the idea of the hard strip and stop with the deep eel fly.
That worked better but the fish were a still difficult.

On the sunday we started later because of saturday night in the Squire and went to the same place. Art wanted to fish at another location but as we wanted to sleep late it was not on. I was fishing with Bill Kessler and on the second cast using the same tactics as the day before I caught a fish. Bill then hooked a fish or about 36" which we lost when trying to boat it for a photo.
It was exciting fishing but we had to work for every fish as they were picky. The tactics were cast to a fish let the fly sink, sharp strip, let the fly sink again, another sharp strip etc. We caught maybe 25% of the fish that followed the fly. We landed in total about 50 fish but we still had to work hard as the were not eating that well. At one point I think we could see about 2 acres of flats full of fish.
After about 5 hours fishing we called it a day because the light was bad and the wind stronger.

Many thanks to Art for putting us on so many fish.
He is a real nice chap, great guide and has a discount for forum members.

I strongly recommend using his services.

Great video Juro!

It was a pleasure guiding you, Pete and Bill last weekend. We did see some amazing fish. I wish you were taking pictures when we saw that huge push of fish but I'm glad you opted for the flyrod instead.

Again, this forum has introduced me to some terrific people. I'm looking forward to the next clave.

Viele Dank, Gentlemen

I'm not sure Hollywood is ready for an acre of bass in such vivid conditions on film hehe... besides my hands were shaking so bad ;)

Thanks again Art for an unforgettable day on the water.
