Fished for stripers today in Rhode Island with Ron (Paxton). He brought me luck and my first RI legal fish this afternoon. I think Ron has a new play ground closer to home! Cinder worms are in full progress thanks to the warmth. Some great reports from friends in RI today.

Watching the RI Master yesterday was fun. Phil was very generous with spots to fish presently and in the future....places I wouldn't find on my own in 100 years.
Not to mention his ability to let fly 70ft out directly in the teeth of at least 25mph wind (Phil, if it was 75 ft I apologize) :)
Was nice to see him pull in a very fat keeper in a spot so small a postage stamp could cover it (a slight exageration).

As planned, I was skunked....but I did see a sea robin go not all was lost :) Great day, and company, very generous company! Nice to have a rod in my hand again.
Of course, at my first spot, a guy i met sais that "yesterday", bass were busting bait all over the place for3 hours..........why is it always "yesterday"?

I owe a lot to Ron and many others on this Forum for all I've learned over the last five years. A BIG thanks to all! Especially Lefty C for some early casting lessons. Mickey Finn Clousers were the ticket for the keeper yesterday. Old timer I know swears by Orange instead of Chartruese.

If any of you guys up there in the Cape area are down here for a visit, please PM me for local intel.

I have not fished it yet. Yes, the hatch has started.
