Man, I'm getting tired of this continual pounding.

The Alsea did not reach flood stage, or even action stage, but it's still high and booming and will be for the next couple of days. I drove up to Portland on New Year's day and saw no one fishing (big surprise, gale force winds and a driving rain), but, drifters should be able to get out mid-week when the water drops below seven feet.

Fly fishing might produce at Clemens Park on the North Fork Alsea from today on. Also, the smaller streams (e.g., Ten Mile Creek) should be fishable.

Wish I could get out and try -- been cooped up way too long.

Living outside of Spokane....I know EXACTLY what you mean!

A whole lot of snow on the ground (61.5" at the airport last month) and -1F this morning. While shoveling, I keep telling myself it's good for the rivers and good for the fish.

Somewhere near or south of the equator would be really nice about now.

Take care,
