On Monday I posted a report of finding breaking fish behind the PI refuge. I returned yesterday hopeing to find a repeat. The only thing we found back there where swarms of those evil green heads. I was glad I had long pants on but I forgot to cover my feet and the attacked my exposed toes relentlessly. Has anyone found a good replent which works with these flies?? I know they are only around for about a month and I would like to keep fishing back there.

Hey Bob
How ya doing? Actually Avon Skin-so-Soft works pretty well for green heads. They'll still buzz around but they don't seem to light. They are attracted to dark colors (e.g. greenhead boxes on marsh) so wear light colored clothing. I find they relentlessly attack my feet if I wear my Tevas with black straps. Barefoot (I know its not a good idea) and skin-so soft or sneakers is key.
Hey email me if you've got some free time in the next few weeks. We should sneak out some a.m.. I'm pretty flexible schedule-wise.
