When using sand eel patterns like the deep eel on the flats, what line leader combo do you use?

I see most guys using weighted clouser type patterns, 9 foot leader and intermediate lines. Would a sinking shooter 250-300 grain be better? Seems with the line on the bottom of a sandy flat the fish might not see it at all or at least not spook them.

In bright sun I've come to dislike clear intermediate lines. Hard to keep track of where they are. I think I'll be fishing a floater with a loong leader when good, head on presentation is possible (reasonanble wind) or the QD type line, with a long leader. I'm convinced (at this time, I'll probably change at some point) that in high sun stripers are super sensitive to lines and line shadows. If the line is sitting on the bottom it don't seem to bother them, even if it's a black line on a light biege sand bottom.... What was the question?
