: The Norwegian salmon need your help!

The "Directorate for Nature Management" (DN) in Norway has recommended a decrease on the net fishing for salmon in the sea for atlantic salmon in Norway. The best would been to stop this fishing in total, but the recommendation from DN is a good step on the way.

"The Minister of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs" has in an answer to this recommendation written a long recommendation to keep the fishing as before and don't give further restriction on the commercial salmon fishing.

The rules for the next 5 years are to be decided by "The Minister of the Environment and International Development" and this decision will have a big influence on the norwegian stock of wild salmon.

So I urge every angler to support the norwegian wild salmon. Peter Tendrup has already linked to the Danish campaign (http://www.flyfishingforum.com/flytalk4/showthread.php?t=26577) and I hope you will support this. But I also hope you will write an email to the Norwegian government as every personal email will be noticed more than a signature. Please write to postmottak@md.dep.no, miljovernministeren@md.dep.no and postmottak@fkd.dep.no

You can refer to the letter from Orri Vigfusson if you don't want to write in your own words: http://www.namsen.dk/docs/openletter.doc

Please help influence the norwegian government to save the atlantic salmon!

I took a few minutes and wrote a short note. Thanks for the heads up McIntyre!
Hopefully everyone will take a minute to respond.
