: Forum Dinner Update, Prize committee meeting

As most of you know we are planning a forum dinner in January. Fishawk has been working diligently behind the scenes to make things happen.

Of course, I had to open my mouth and told him I would help.:D He immediately seized upon the situation and without hesitation or democratic vote appointed me as the Prize Committee Chairman, or more accurately "The" Prize Committee.

So taking my newfound duties to heart I had a meeting with the committe and came up with a plan.
I beat up on my good friend Capt'n Carp and secured a brandy new ( drum roll please) Sage Xi-2 9wt fly rod to be raffled of as a door prize. I should have it in my hot little hands next week.

Now I need some help. If anyone can secure a suitable reel & a good line to donate we can make this a complete ready to fish outfit.
In addition to the rod, I would like to secure as many smaller prizes, fishing trips from you boat guys, maybe Captain Kieth can throw in a days taxi fare to North Monomoy. etc.... Perhaps some of you fly tiers out there could make up a selection of your favorite flies & put them in a inexpensive fly box. We can raffle those off too. Anything Fly fishing related will be accepted as long as it is donated. All proceeds from raffle will go towards operating the Forum. Since this is a door prize situation you must be present to win. More on how the raffle will work will be posted later.

Tom this happening Jan 19th. We have a room reserved at the same place where the Marlboro show is being held. FishHawk

the show is in 3 weeks or so. what's the status on the meeting? which day , what time, and which room at the hotel? what is planned? deposits needed?

The meeting is after the Marlboro Show on Sat after the show. We have a room to ourselfs . We are working on the details and I'll post a new thread with the latest details soon. The Holidays have taken up much of our time.

Thanks Bill.... Those details will come out later...we could not have any info on the room itself, etc. right now. Bill and I spoke about the need for a sign up sheet in a few days to know the exact numbers...then we will be able to confirm the room, and the time will probably be early eve of the night of the show..on Saturday... at the same Hotel. Also, how the meal is served... separate bills or an amount for two or three choices, etc...we don't know that right now.
