With steers from Sean & Ray and some vague memories from my youth, went looking for Blues a couple of days ago. Found tons of bait; snappers in harbors and pond outflows; found quite a few small to mid pods of 6-7# fish that were eating (one semi-blitz). Found a surprising number of fish in the Sakonnet. It was perfect 8 wt fishing that you had to work a bit for.
My 11 year old Grandson proved several times that a 6# Blue can break 10# test (hint here: parental units should keep mouths shut).

Glay you had a good welcome back trip. Place hasn't changed... has it?

Nice to show your son your old fish haunts and where it all started.

RI sure is a nice place to fish, Narragansett Bay in particular is a beautiful place. My friends & I usually make a trip or two down in August, but for some reason this year we cannot seem to get it together. When the blues are in the action can be maddening:D
