Does anyone have any input on Ragged Island Bahamas as a DIY destination?

There was a bonefish lodge there for a while but it is no longer operating. There were very good initial reports from the lodge and some not so good later. There are no regularly scheduled flights to the island which may be why the lodge was not successful. You either have to charter a flight or hop on the Mail Boat.

Google earth does not have good coverage of the island but looking at Explorer Bahamas charts there appears to be large accessable flats at the north end.

Any information or someone to contact on or off the island would be appreciated.

The problem with Ragged is that it is not one island, but a couple hundred cays and not too many have flats. A boat is must, and I would doubt that any are available to rent there. I'm sure you could find a place to stay and a guide to take you out, DIY would IMO be very tough.
