My wife, my friend Capt'n Lockwood and myself took a early morning jaunt over to Salisbury today to see if we couldn't catch a few. Was a good day with a few surprises as well.
We started off at the mouth and immediately got a few schoolies just as the tide was slacking.
As the tide turned outbound we investigated Joppa Flats & found nothing, chased a few birds around in the channel and came up empty handed for an hour or so. Then got on to the schoolies again for a few mins here and there. When the tide got to going out real good we headed back for the mouth and did some jetty drifts and started getting some bigger schoolies. At the end of the south jetty some fish were chasing some bait, we motored over, I threw a clouser into the fray and came up with a shad. Or at least I think it's a shad.

Then the blue fish came, we boated six & a dozen or more cut us off. I put a short 4" section of wire on & did not loose anymore & even caught a few more stripers.
By two PM were had enough of the howling wind. Despite the 20 knot sustained wind we still managed to cast some flies with 10 wt sink tips. Wifey did not fish today but took some snaps.

Yes, that second picture is definitely a shad. Great fun on light tackle, and great food for big bass.

Nice photos.
