My dad and I fished the last half of the outgoing tide at the Mousam River in Kennebunk on Saturday. Plenty of small fish around, even at near slack tide. This was my first time fishing the spot, and was very impressed with the layout of the estuary. There's a nice diversity of structure.

Chartruese and/or white were productive colors, and most fish were caught near the bottom.

I love that spot but it can get really crowed so I've tended to avoid it the last few years. I have some great memories of some huge bluefish chasing pogies in the mouth of the river. They just wore me out.

Hopefully this bodes well for the North Shore during the Dad's Day weekend- I'm on call this weekend, then up at the folks (just south of Newburyport) for Dad's Day weekend, then back here the following weekend for the Big Bros event.
