Another fly developed by Alaskan guide George Cook in the early 1980s, this fly is one of a series of flies he calls the Alaskabou series. Cook says this fly is a winter run fly but I have used it to advantage on aggressive spring fish.

Hook: Up eye Atlantic salmon hook
Body: None.
Wing: Deep purple marabou surrounding the hook with some red crystal flash and purple flashabou mixed in.
Collar: Red marabou.
Head: Fire orange.

It is nice seeing some of Geroge's little known flies on the forum.

My friend Bob Arnold ties a very similar fly he calls the Royal Flush (or Royal Flash when he adds the red Kystal Flash) it is tied thus:

body: royal blue chenile
rib: oval gold
wing: royal blue marabou wrapped as hackle; followed by red
marabou wrapped as hackle.
(red Krystal Flash could be added between the two marabou colors if desired.)
head: red thread

Also, the fly can be tied with a bunch of royal blue marabou tied on top and bottom of hook for the wing with a royal blue hackle collar.
