This storm has broken a number of records. I was interested to see what was happening on the Housatonic and here it is

The small brook than run past my property is a raging torrent and there are a lot of new channels cut through the wetlands out back.

Thankfully everything is dry and safe around the house but I know many have not been so lucky...

Lots or rain here in NH as well Adrian, The Governor has declared a state of emergency for some reason, I suspect flooding in the low lands. I have heard numerous reports of road closings around the Manchester area. By declaring a disaster, the Nat'l Guard can deploy with engineer equipment & sand bags to help out the less fortunate folks that get flooded out, or help evacuate people effected.

Lots of small streams in my area are over their banks & roads are starting to wash out. At 2:30pm I went by a wash out where half the road was gone. It brings back bad memories of last May & the preceding October. We here in NH were flooded out pretty bad.

I thought about paddling my kayak to work today.
