Definitely won't be able to fish Halloween weekend and might not be able to do Rhodyfest (work is heating up) so, having missed this weekend's fun (almost don't want to see the postings about it tomorrow) it looks like next weekend will be mine (wife actually feels bad for me so I'm milking it!)
Might head down Friday night (she even said I could have the minivan and sleep in it if I want) or maybe go down early Saturday and stay over into Sunday. Either way, I'm fishing and don't really care how, where or when - as long as I have a shot at hooking up. I need something bigger than 24" on my 9weight before the 5weight becomes my friend for the winter.

Sorry you did not make it, BUT the fishing was less then steller. The bar was like an entirely different place this weekend (from last). It was a plus tide instead of a minus tide; therefore, the bar never got exposed & the rip never even set up. We caught a whole bunch of schoolies at first light over to the left, but the big girl bar never really happened. A couple of larger fish were taken; one from a boat & one from an A-hole spin guy that really knew how to torture a stiper. In our effort to try to make it happen by sheer will a bunch of us tried to get over the unexposed bar which we did, but not before all taking waves into the waders (D'OH). Well if there was a spot that fished consisently great they wouldn't call it fishin' they'd call it catchin'
All-in-all I'd say it was kind of a Murphy's Law day, but we had a good time.
I'd make a more detailed post, but I got to go shower & go out for some dinner.
i'm so outta here

As parents, the worst feeling in the world is when they are sick and you can't do anything about it. I hope your daughter is feeling better.
I'll be at the light early Sat. and leaving before noon. Tides look really good next weekend, and I'm a firm believer that a full moon heats things up in the catching column. If the big fish are still around they are sure to be active. Even if it's a schoolie show, it's better than yard work :) Hope to see you.

Having at least one person for company will make it that much more fun. Hope the weather holds since everything else looks good, but I'm going to fish in the rain if I have to.
We should probably collect cell phones or somesuch in case we miss each other?
RE: Sick children: Yeah, that's the bottom line - even if you can't do anything you still have to act like you can http://126.96.36.199/images/flytalk/Wilk.gif.

Here's the tides for Saturday (maybe we shouldn't fish Friday The 13th):

Apparently, I'm talking to myself in this thread http://184.108.40.206/images/flytalk/Wilk.gif
Anyway, I'll be there at 5:30, black Volvo S70 sedan.
I think the fleeting seconds of people's attention spans flickered past as the notion of "thread" attempts to harness the chaos of posts and replies of the on-line feeding frenzy we call a bulletin board.
Funny how you made me realize that a post is like casting into busting pods of albies. Sometimes they pop up here, sometimes there, you try to predict them but you can't always do it, you to to lead them but it's better just to let them swim into your line, and although responses are there in the depths sometimes they are just all over the place and no where in particular.
One can do nothing about it, but go with the flow....
See you Saturday?

Oh, I'll see you (your pictures are everywhere on this site), but will you recognize ME? http://220.127.116.11/images/flytalk/Wilk.gif

I haven't responded because I'm still trying to resolve my dilemma: Chatham or Rhody, Rhody or Chatham, hmm . . . maybe Connecticut. Rhody? Chatham? CT? Or maybe the Canal? So many places, so little time!

Chatham or No. Shore, Cape Cod or Cape Ann.... hmmm Big Girl Bar or Brute Rocks, Magnolia or Stinky Chatham (that I can't get too)...
Terry (who catches a few fish and is unbearable)

Quentin - no sweat! Let me know what you decide - might join you the 2nd 1/2 of the day!
FYI: Chatham Seafest is Friday and Saturday, so get your parking spot early at the lighthouse! Given the temperature, there will definitely be alot of people sightseeing.
