: Beize in June, looking for guide info
03-21-2007, 03:13 PM
Hi. I am heading to Belize at the beginnning of June and am looking for some info on guides there. I am interested in getting out on the flats for 2 days and wanted to know if any of you could recommend a guide. We'll be staying on Ambrigis Caye. I've heard George Bradleys name mentioned but I believe him to be booked up.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I would contact George and ask him for suggestions. Otherwise contact ruby's hotel, all the independent guides there are good and most work for El pescador as well.
Nesto Gomez, Vincent Dawnson to name a couple.
I also caught snook and cuda wading around the new docks being built by Banyan Bay south of the city.

Thanks, you're the second person that suggested booking through Ruby's so I am going to look into that.
Same thing I asked the other guy that suggested Ruby's, do you thinks its a place my laid back wife would enjoy??
thanks so much for the help,

Ruby's is very basic accommodation's. Clean, safe and cheap
I don't have a problem staying there, but my wife might :)

thanks for the details on Ruby's, you echo the sentiment of another poster on a different forum. I'll run it by the missus and se what she thinks.
thanks for the help,

It was awesome!!! Better than I hoped, I'm definately hooked on bonefishing!!. This was my first saltwater fly fishing trip and I couldn't have asked for a better one. George Bradley was a great to work with.
I did one full day with George and then a half day with another gentlemen. After reading countless stories of how bonefish run when you hook them I had pretty high expectations......and I wasnt let down a bit!!
Belize was a beautiful country to visit ( my wife loved it as well) and the awesome fishing was icing on the cake.
I can't wait till the next trip...........

Hi Jon--I'm glad you got a chance to experience catching a bonefish.
I can sense your enthusiasm from your post!!
It is highly addictive and has provided a lifetime of thrills to many maembers of this forum.

I'm looking forward to many more trips down the road. Saltwater fly fishing is a whole other animal from freshwater trout/smallie fishing. I've been on the rivers a few times since I have returned from Belize and I can't help but think about the runs of thse bonefish or the strength of the Jack Crevalle. I might be ruined :)
I tried to upload some photos ( I even made the images super small) but it keeps telling me upload failed.

The best way to load photos onto the site is to download them first onto a photo site like photobucket and then to hot link them.
I am looking forward to seeing your photos.
I hope you don't recover from the bonefish bug.

I have edited your post so that, as you can see, the pics come up by themselves.
To display images directly use the IMG option in Photobucket.
Nice pics by the way.
