This is a winter fly meant to be fished in the deep fast waters of the North Umpqua. The inventor is Joe Howell, of the Blue Heron fly shop.
Hook: Up eye salmon hook very large 1/0 to 5/0.
Tail: Red hackle barbs
Body: Pearl mylar tubing or braid.
Wing: White marabou and pearl crystal flash.
Collar: Large Fluorescent orange hen hackle.
Head: Fluorescent orange or red

Simple and deadly!! i have a little thing going with Diamondbraid bodies myself;)
Tag: 5 turns Oval gold tinsel
Tail: Golden Pheasant.
Body: Deep Blue Diamondbraid
Rib : Oval Gold Kreinik Metallic Braid
Wing: White Calf Tail.
Collar: Blue Schlappen

I use silver Bodi-braid on my streamers and love the way it looks in the water. The only thing about it I don't like is that toothy trout or salmon can really tear it up pretty good. I sometimes tie the braid in the middle of the fly too, not just at each end.

I like diamond braid as well. Here's is Dave McNeese's Pale Perl.
Hook: Alec Jackson Spey Hook #3-7
Tip: Flat silver tinsel
Tail: Dyed red Golden Pheasant Crest
Body: Purple diamond braid
Rib: Oval silver tinsel
Hackle: Purple Whiting Amercian Rooster Neck
Wing: White artic fox; 4 strands purple Kystal Flash; Purple artic fox (in order from bottom to top)
Head: Purple 8/0 Uni-Thread
