Thru private emails and from poking around the net, the little dog toothed devils are ripping around the islands and points to the south. Silversides are in thick on the sound with scup and fluke in high numbers - perhaps due to recent commercial controls. It's that time... time to think in earnest about BONECLAVE!!!

Been meaning to report: Last 2 weekends I've been out on the Bass River jetty. 1st weekend tons of sea robins. This past weekend tons of scup. Both weekends BAITFISH up and down the jetty both sides. I can just see the crashing 'Noids now. Something was strafing the jetty tip last weekend too. Come and go like lightning...could it be?

Any size to the sea robins?

Yup, Robins were about 7 to 10" long. They were getting them by the bucket off of Rte 28 bridge also. I was drifting above the bridge in my alum. boat and caught one on a sand eel pattern. First Robin on the fly for me.
Josko - I gotsta' know... what can one do with a big sea robin?
(hope your excursions are going well, I'll email on the topic)
