: Spring Clave Dates?
01-17-2007, 09:27 AM
It maybe a little early But Do we have a date for Our SPRING CLAVE ? I usually find out at the show (By asking Juro) But it seems I might not be making it this year I guess it still depends on the way this storm heads this Fri. I already had to put in for my time in 07 so I'm hoping I have the dates right

I hope you don't mind but I changed the title of your post to try and garner some more attention. There seems to be a lot of people looking for these dates so we can hopefully gain some consensus in this thread.

The clave date of May 19 works for Walt and the West coasters, we arrive on May 15 late. Will start fishing 16 May. Just for your info...Rooster just moved to the Carolina's and I heard a rumor that he moved with 20+ cases of his and Walts fantastic wine...sounds good...I will deny saying this about the wine if asked.....Tom

The Clave wouldn't be complete without the West Coast gang. Rooster is still a West Coast guy. :hihi:

Thank you for being so welcoming to us out here in the very cold sunshine state. It has been very, very cold compared to the usual. I believe our state had a quake and we are now part of Canada. I need to start thinking about which appetizer to bring to compete with Dave 17's Ahi tuna. I don't think he can be beat. Tom
so...frankfurters and beans are passe for the clave. Since I'll have a clamming license, ciappino will be competing with Dave and Tom. Now, all I need is someone to supply the fish. Fishhawk?

JimS - cool I was planning on raking clams this season too. I took a look at the Town website and I think the annual rec. permits go on sale on May 15th - which is just about perfect timing:smokin:

It's been a while for me. But I haven't missed a 'Clave in 5 years... can't start now. Hopefully we gat another beauty of a weekend this year, last was the warmest yet.
Most likely it will be Drew and I together.

May 19 is on the calendar.
I am coaching lacrosse now, and that is the last game. Hopefully, it is a morning game and I can get on noon flight to Beantown.
I will be there if at all possible.
Tommy, I am sure we can get some vino transported up by then.
I plan to "open the house" in April, so I may see some of you folks before then.
I checked US air...., I can get a direct NC-Boston (round trip) for $198...., SweeeeeT!
02-08-2007, 08:23 PM
I will bring along the usual selection of cheese and a taste of Oporto exporto to help it down :)
I will also have the "beater" six string in tow. I hear Juro's been practicing too so, if Bonefishmon (Phil) has oiled up the reeds of his blues-harp, the Stone Horse Spring Clave Jam session should be hot this year :smokin:

sticking his head out of the irish pub door and looking back and forth for a moment he says......"is it still winter? wasup guys?"......door slams he's gone back to the craic.

I'll get myself booked into the Stone Horse Motel.
Hey this is sounding like it's going to be a CLASSIC.
Don't forget to tell Matt at Stone Horse you are with the Forum Clave for the special rate.
02-13-2007, 09:52 AM
Cheers, booked up with Matt at the Stone Horse.
Looking forward to it. Be a nice warmer-upper for the ten days I am over just three weeks later.
I bring something Tax Free and 40%+
Jamie, so you will be the scout for the pending British invasion? Based on the pound/dollar ratio 1:2, me thinks it could be a large contingent this June.
Look forward to seeing you in May at the Stonehorse. Plans finalized for Weipa?

Jim, by my latest count there will be close to a score of Brits, that I know of, secreted away in various holes around the Cape come June. I have clear instructions on the information required from my pathfinding mission - the pressure is on. But I'll be buggered if I'm gonna share any of my honey holes with a bunch of uptight limeys.
Australia is not going to happen; for the first half of the year at least. Taxman playing bogyman, makes it a stretch before the end of the summer. Gutted, but this trip will make the pain go away.

Hey guys, not sure if the Saxon humor is understood this side of he pond.
I always used to get funny looks when I told folks in the office I was going downstairs to "smoke a fag". One day in a meeting someone said something really stupid and I said "that's bollocks!"
One of he ladies turned to me and asked "What is bollocks?" I was tempted to tell her :lildevl:
02-15-2007, 03:53 AM
Good old British cussing - nothing like it to get Johnny Foreigner tittering behind his hand. Thankfully, it works the other way around too.
Indeed. I was very disappointed the first time I saw a "fanny pack".
Nothing like what I had in mind......

Adrian- Never Mind the Bollocks, Here are the Sex Pistols!!!!
"God save the Queen....she ain't no human being...and there's no future...and England's dreaming!"- Johnny Rotten
"Anarchy for the UK!!!":hihi:

Yeah, I never did fully understand that Pants, trousers thing and what about those cute little rascals who chew trees and make dams.. What's that all about! :hihi:
02-18-2007, 06:29 AM
I spoke with Jamie last night. He was the Guy that wound me up to fever pitch to come out to CC in june. Now I spot this conclave. As it happens I still have not told my wife about the june 14 day trip but somthing is a stirlng inside of me to see If I can swing this forerunner to. Don't see why Jamie should have to have all the responsibility of taking point for us Brits.
It's going to be tough on the money front as I am still coming out to "M" in Oct and the Company I am contracted to may get slightly Pi----d if I am taking 6 weeks off a year. But you only live to fish but once.
MBE if I wrangle this one Jamie. If not then I will just have to revert to 15 hour fishing days in June to make up for lost time.

Here's a bump.

Please check yor PM's

All set Pete. There is now a sticky for Spring Clave Signups. I didn't pull the names from this thread but I think there is plenty of time for everyone to respond on that thread and confirm their intent to attend. I am not sure at this point as that has historically been one of the best weekends in the bay.

Thanks for doing that Sean.
Juro..Have a CND 11/12 in transit from Tightlines Fly Shop (Andrew) so will need
If you are there on Fri, maybe set up a group??
