Does anyone have a suggestion for a guide in Turks and Caicos other than Silverdeep at $800 per day?

Not to hijack the thread but I wanted to talk about my T&C research efforts. I've been corresponding with the T&C government on their fisheries management policies which I feel border on extortion.

Other than a postage stamp of an area the vast majority of waters are protected from even C&R fishing under nature preserve regulations which do not apply to local guides. This fact alone has kept me from spending any money there and I encourage people to engage in challenging conversations with them and unless your honey wants to go to Sandals spend your money elsewhere.

If they want to protect the area around Provo for their over-priced guiding businesses, I have little heartburn with that. But once you leave for North, Middle or other remote places it seems ridiculous that anglers would be prohibited from exploring those areas on kayaks or on foot for catch and release flyfishing.

As of the moment I've cancelled the planning for a ridiculous clave there.

I 'm not going there, just helping a friend who will be there with his gal next week doing the tourist thing. No big deal, he'll be on Acklins in March for some real fishing.

The place looks great from the air, but if it's all off limits no wonder there are only a couple of guides that can get $800 per day and exclusive access!
