Hi;

Where to go if you want to spend time in December/january fishing Steelhead.

I have looked on the Smiths River i California. Any one who know this river??

Merry Xmas!

Hey, Peter,

I'd agree with Juro that January will open more opportunities as there will be a combination of fresh and older-run fish in most of the streams.

The California Smith is an excellent steelhead stream, but very crowded.

The crowding is a definite downside, but many truly expert anglers fish the Smith, and you can learn a lot from observation.

Cheers,

Eric

Hi;

Just want to spend my Christmas holiday(next year) by the river, instead of "dancing" around the Christmas tree:)

Peter,

The Smith is viable. The Trinity west of Redding is experiencing a "best year in a long time" run. Going there for a few days at New Years. Will post.
