: When You've got to go...

Simms has announced a new wader, the G4 with a zipper. Great idea, bad price - $700. My son, Brad, has another idea, and it works. If you fish the flats, like I do, and you've had one too many cups of coffee, here's the solution. Unbuckle your stripping basket. Strap it around your leg, assuming the water is not waist deep. Place your pack or vest, plus rod in the basket. Unloosen the top of your wader, voila!

While I love my Simms waders, I don't think I'd need to spend $700 to do what comes naturally! Who needs a zipper at $700 when the usual suspenders will do? Drop 'em and go!

With the amount of water my simms let in I dont even have to drop them, just go.

"I just borrow a "Texas catheter" from one of the urologists"

When float tube fishing back west this is exactly what we used. I was working in prostate cancer research and had easy access to em. Worked like a charm. No joke.

Merry Christmas Jim. See you in the spring.

The cathater thing sounds like a good idea, as long as you don't mistake it for the camelback thing.

OC, when you flying out? How'd Hanna weather the weather?

Dropped my G3's and relieved myself on the banks of the Test last Sunday. Too much Scotch at lunchtime. Was a bit frosty though.

Get to bed Jamie its 1 AM and you have work tommorow.:chuckle:

I fished with zip up waders on the Cape last year. Marvelous. That is until the zip breaks half way through the holiday.

Its just one more thing that can go wrong - Keep it simple
