I'm a newbie to the site, but I'm also editor of the magazine Classic Angling. Usually reliable sources say that this board had some stuff on Hardy reels with a spitfire finish that weren't anything of the sort. I'm writing a story about this, so any information that anyone has would be very valuable. My understanding is that Hardy only used this finish during the WW2 years. Thanx.

Lately Hardy reels with the "spitfire" finish are just all too common:cool: Unscrupulous dealers??? Perhaps,, but all too common none the less. You have a PM with a site that you can search as this topic is pretty hot.
