: Christmas week walk?

12-15-2006, 08:15 PM
Don't think I can offer a fishing trip to the beaches of Sandwich but who would like to make the walk out to the old cut area some time Christmas week. I will be in Harwich that week and open to a day. Maybe Fred A can manage the details if he and Donna are still interested in going. I will be in and out of the office all this week coming up so you could PM me if you have a good day for you. Hey maybe if the guys do good on Sunday we could have a Christmas striper clave instead!

I'll need two days notice as I am working that week. Looking forward to a good hike and perhaps a wet line on the way back to Ct..

I suggest we keep an eye on the forcast and pick a bluebird day. I'll probably be on the cape the day after xmas through new years day. Looking forward to seeing Steve and Tracy and hearing about the plans for the upcoming voyage.

Thursday looks like the pick of the week.

I'm going to try to make that walk... does Friday work for anyone? Less impact on the work week and the Mayor is expected sometime during the weekend.

I think I can start casting soon with the spica splint on - did they put those big brooders into Cliff Pond yet? :smokin:

Works for me. Long range is for sun on Thurs, overcast but a few degrees warmer on Friday. The more the mobetter. Beers and single malts at my place after.
We could also swing a fly in the river for holdovers.

Boss dropped a Monday deadline on me (we do our installs during non-production hours) so I will be at work today but am thinking of heading down sometime over the long weekend to make the hike.

I'll PM or call for the scoop.

Take lots of pics!

Steve, Tracy and I did the walk and saw what was expected we'd see. Pleasant walk down, but put one foot in front of the other death march back. Fun stuff. Toured cousins boat shop after then a few single malts to remedy the pain. A few pics to post when I sober up.

It was great to hook up with you for the pleasant bit of a walk. Also enjoyed the pain killers,(single malts) you provided back at the house, thanks! We made it back to Seattle very tired at 0001 on the 1st. The 25 year olds next door were having a new years party so we invited ourselves and continued with the pain killers. I can only say we are feeling much better now.

It was fun wish more could of joined the walk, Looks like if things hold up as they are now you all will have some real nice water on the outside come May.
Happy New Year

Sean, I saw that tuesday am but it was gone in the evening when I went back to listen to the audio.

Some nice structure was revealed on the walk back, near the bottom of the tide. Should make for some good migration opps in May, before the seals return in force. We did have a couple of seals follow us down the beach. Also saw a pair of bald eagles in one of the wash through areas.

Pics of the nice beach formed at the southway entrance, lunch at the southway and a couple of guys you'd prefer not to bump into in the night.

Fred, thanks for the pics. Is the first one the entrance to the old Southway, and if so, is that a wash over in the background? As we all surmise, 2007 should be interesting, and it may not be over, depending on the whims of Mother Nature.

I wonder what Keith has in store for a drop-off location(s) this Spring.

Mostly shadow from a modest, dry, trough. Me thinks t'aint no going back.
