So I'm always interested in vacations where all the family can have fun. We have my parents (60s), my generation (30s) and two little ones (1.4 years and 2 months). I know we can't please everyone, but i'd be curious about people's thoughts on places to go where bonefishing/tarpon is prevalent.

I'd be curious about places in the Keys, Bahamas, Belize. Out of eth group, we have more non-fishing types so alternate and more boring :hihi: activities would need to be available.

an astute PMer asked when we wanted to go. Personally, a trip southward would likely feel right in March/April when the winter is just about getting old.

Now that you give your dates I think the Keys may be the best bet for you...

Based on the ages (esp. the youngest) you could fly into Miami or Key West and rent a van and base yourself in say Marathon... sort of equidistant from Key West and Islamorada... the drive is fun going over the bridges between the islands if you dont do it on a weekend!

If you get a hotel with lots of amenities and a beach then the kids will have fun and there are fun sightseeing things to drive to... Dolphin parks etc..

Now the most important part... the fishing... the Keys are big league...I have tried many times down there from the shore DIY with limited success.... it can be done but prepare for frustration....

email me and I will send you all kinds of DIY info I have collected...

grand bahama island. great bonefishing, resort area with all the bells and whistles, glass bootom boat trips, casino, great night life, many very good restaurants, beaches, swimming pools etc. i do my bonefishing trip there. only problem with the bonefish is that they are too big and too many of them. but no one knows.
